Killin welcomes new quality accommodation
Two new accommodation projects in the Bridge of Lochay area of Killin have recently been completed.
On the site of the former Killin Youth Hostel on Lochay Road, the 14-house Highland Park development (www.highlandparkkillin.co.uk) has been named recently as a Scottish Home Awards 2015 Finalist in the Small Housing Development of the Year category. The awards highlight excellence in building, design, marketing and customer care and are presented to innovative teams creating family housing, city apartments and affordable flats.
The factored development has no occupancy restrictions and can be used as retirement homes, as second homes for those seeking a retreat from a busy work life, as a base for holidays and short breaks, or for holiday lettings.
Opposite the Bridge of Lochay Hotel, Craggantoul (www.craggantoul.net) has recently completed seven luxury self catering holiday cottages. Finished in a variety of shapes, styles and materials, the cottages have frontage and salmon fishing rights on the banks of the River Lochay opposite Killin Golf Course. The cottages can accommodate either 4 or 6 persons. Each cottage has a decking terrace facing the river while the majority also have private hot tubs on the decking. Both of these high-quality developments should bring additional visitors and residents to Killin and help boost local economic activity and local Food & Drink businesses.
